About

I am an idea generator. My set of tools include (but are not limited to): a pencil, a paintbrush, stylus, ADOBE Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver and Flash). I am well versed in HTML and CSS and some Javascript and some PHP and MYSQL. I am always expanding my capabilities by expanding my knowledge and expertise. I am always aspiring to solve complex business and user problems in creative ways by focusing on the end user to design products that work, are fun, easy to use, and profitable. I am passionate about delivering user experiences that are relevant, persuasive, and trustworthy.

My primary interests lie in the areas of design strategy and information architecture. I view myself as a user experience generalist with the ability to specialize in various disciplines.

My long-term career goals include leading cross-discipline user experience teams with a focus on user experience strategy.

Personal Biography

I graduated from the University of the Arts of Philadelphia with a BFA in Painting and Design. I relocated back to Pittsburgh, where I continued to cultivate relationships in the local art community through grants, focus groups and advisory boards. I owned and operated a gallery that fostered young artists through an internship program called Fresh Juice. In this program, students worked collaboratively on group exhibitions, involving themselves in every step of the process from idea conception, to advertising, to exhibition planning. Each student also received their own solo exhibition. In the midst of running the gallery, I also received my MS in Multimedia Technology and Communications through Duquesne University.

Through my networking with the art community in Pittsburgh, I wrote several grants and dedicated myself to gallery initiatives, including ART-iculate Creative Network: an online social network for artists, and the Pittsburgh Gallery Guide (PGG): A printed guide for galleries in the Southwestern region of Pennsylvania. PGG is thriving in its fourth year and is about to launch its new website.

In addition to all my community involvement, I am also a painter, exhibiting my work in various venues throughout the city and online. You can see my work at ASHgalleries

In my spare time, I love playing with my dogs, cooking, eating, spending time with my husband Adam and occasionally going on a snowboarding trip.
